UbiSoft has announced that Far Cry 2 will be making an entrance on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 on one day, no more split PC/Console launch. It is due in the 3rd quarter, not sure of the exact date yet. A lot of time is being spent on perfecting every single aspect of the game, so the wait should be worth it.

UbiSoft has given the player complete control. You have one mission: hunt down the “Jackal.” He is a warlord that needs to be taken down. Those are your only direct orders in the game. You decide how you want to do it. It is up to you to figure out where he is, what he is up to, and what type of dirty deeds need to be done to get what you need.

The game is set in Africa, which is completely open for exploration. Once the game is loaded, it should remind you of a GTA4 set in Africa. If you can see it, you can go there. You can literally go anywhere you want to in the game, which is something UbiSoft did to give it more of a life-like feel.
